Hallo

All of a suddon I have problems with booting up my KN6000. I have installed the HD-SX6 and I have a feeling the K6 have problems starting up this unit. After switching on an off for almost half an hour I finally got the keyboard to life. I reinstalled images for both the K6 (v61a) and the HD (v113c) but the problem is still there. The problem is only there when the keyboard has been of for a while. I fear that I will not be able to boot up at my next gig !!. Please can anybody help.

CAREFULLY take the sx6 and any soundcards out and see if it boots OK. Then put any soundcards back one by one, try again. Then put the sx6 back, try again. I cannot stress to be careful with manhandling the sx6 in its bare state.

Be very careful of the links on the underside of the sx6 board. If you suspect this may be temperature dependant (warming and cooling as the unit is used) maybe there is a soldered joint somewhere gone dry?

Personally I would use version 7a for the 6000 with sx6.

Taiyo only have the 71a and I suppose that was what you ment when writing 7a ?.

I have now had the HD out (have no soundcards) but the K6 still wont boot. Actually now its not possible to start it up at all. Any suggestions ?.

Can it be the switchmode power supply that gives too low voltage out. I could put a vario trafo i front of the switch mode and turn it up to max 250 V. Or shuld I leave that ?.

Thanks

yes, that's the latest version.

Try factory initial, hold down top 4 rhythm buttons, switch on.

If not, you need an engineer with the product service manual procedures?

One question more in my search after a solution: Wenn I check the 113c imagen (starting up with PM buttons 2,3 and 4 down) I get the respond "NG". Does that mean "NO GOOD" ?

factory initial replaces the flash area apart from the custom style and is equivalent to a clean boot. The other initial replaces all the functions in the list of performance initial.

The checksum only works for KN operating software, not for sx operating software. If the sx disk loads, it is OK.

let me know if you need any sx system files.
