Hi folks
I have about 1000 midi files on disk and would like to save them to my sd card.Problem----when I originaly play the song on the 7000 it plays in the right instrument asignment after a save to sd and reload all is changed. What to do??? Thanks i n advance. Jax

Saved the midi file on Technics Format.

I loaded midi's from floppy to my SD Card via the following
Press
SD Load Button next
SD Tools Button ( top left)next
SD SOUND Tools Button (bottom right) next
Copy from disk.

It worked for me.

forgot to mention midifiles play via "Sound Play" in the SD menu.

Thanks all..... I think I overlooked the basics and your help in this matter is appreciated.As good as this instrument sounds live I don't think I really need the midi files that much,but nice to have available in a pinch. Jax

I would like to add one tip when you are saving your midi files.

Save only to sequencer. This way you can save hundreds of your midi songs with little storage loss on your SD card.

How do you save hundres of midi files to the sequencer?

Is it not better to save to the SD Card, in that midi files are small, can be put into many types of catorgized folders for faster access? The SD Card would seem to be more secure and flexible then the sequencer. I suppose if you only have a few midis that the sequencer is fine.

I know that midis are not as popular as say...2 years ago, but I would think that a lot of members have many midi files they want to store on their 7000. So my question is ..How do owners of the 7000 save their midi files ?

When you load one midi song into your sequencer from floppy disk you then hit save on your SD Card and then name the song and then save that song in a file on your SD card. Save to only sequencer. Then you load another midi song in an do the same but remembering to drop the song into a new slot. When you fill up the 20 slots with songs open up a new file and continue until you have all the midi songs you want on your SD card.
All you save on a midi song is the sequencer. The others like panel ,composer
sound memory, etc , you no out.

I'd like to make one more addition to the above.
Although I prefer to save a sequence in Technics mode (smaller and less trouble), there are circumstances that you want to save a sequence as SMF. For instance, when you want to play it on another MIDI device.
You should remember to put the PANEL HEADER to ON before saving, or else the instrument and volume settings are lost in the midifile you saved. I've mailed Chris Whitehead about this problem, for this was not the case with the KN6000/6500.
Furthermore, the stars representing this info in the first measure of the sequence aren't shown in the KN7000 as Karl Fueller posted on January 8, 2003.
