I've just received a DVD from a company in USA called ANIMUSIC. It comprises 7 AV tracks of computer generated music, tied to 3D animations of virtual musical instruments. The whole production is mindblowing and the work involved in the production is staggering. The music is basically a MIDI file and the Animation is synchronised to the MIDI file.
If you would like to get a taste of the DVD, go to www.animusic.com and download the short demos. They are available in Windows media player, Real Player and QuickTime formats. The quality is not as good as the DVD but will give you an idea of the content. The demos are about 1.5Mb and if you only download one, I would suggest 'Future Retro'.
For those who don't know - the files can be saved on your PC by Right clicking your selected format and choosing 'Save Target as...' rather than opening the file and playing directly when the download finishes. If you wish to obtain a copy of the DVD, details are on the web site - cost $19.95 - shipping free in USA - $6.00 to UK

It's a slang term meaning anything along the lines of 'astounded', 'astonished', 'dumb struck', 'full of awe' etc. One of those funny British expressions. In a similar vein, we often fail to understand why Americans can't say the second 'i' in 'Aluminium'!!

Richard.

It's because it isn't spelt with a second "i" in the US, it is "aluminum" in the US not "aluminium" as in the UK or Australia.

And in Spanish it is "aluminio"

One of many different USA vs.UK phrases:

Here our trash collectors actually dispose of garbage and other rubbish...thus the name "Garbage Man".
In England the job is not nearly as tough..apparently they only dispose of dust, otherwise how do you explain "Dustman" ?

SeeYa,
Larry Hawk
PS..Be cautious when in England...apparently they have a "Sleeping Policeman" at many shopping areas
