I have been reading the "Custom" posting and I have two questions:-

1) Are we limited as we are with folders?

2) If so, how many custom saves of 20 can be saved to an SD Card?

I look forward to replies on this one as I use the Custom section a lot.

Regards,

Aud (U.K.)

Hi Audrey,
1. You can save just one set of 20 Custom styles to each of the 20 'SONG' locations in a FOLDER so the same limitation applies - 99 folders of 20 sets of 20 Custom memories. ie. 20 x 20 x 99 = 39,600 individual styles or 1980 groups of 20 Custom styles. However, this assumes a fairly large SD Card

2. If you select CUSTOM save only in Page 2 of the SD save dialog, then the file size would appear to be around 250 KB including the .PMT file, for each group of 20 Custom styles. Looking at the size of some Custom saves on one of my SD cards, the file sizes vary between 200KB and 270KB. So, if you wanted to save the maximum number of Custom styles you would need at least a 512 MB SD Card, or larger, to allow for overheads ( 20 x 99 x 256,000) Assuming my maths is correct

Hi Audrey and Bill,
So, if I want to save 30 Custom Styles a week (1,560 per annum)it will take 164.1 years to fill a 512MB SD card?

Gosh, I'd better start working on this in some hurry!

Regards,
George

Wow Bill!

When you put it like that it sounds an enormous amount of songs and I know some people cannot believe they would all come into use but believe me! I use those I've saved so far a good deal. I play singalongs and dance-alongs usually and I because I'm playing at regular venues with almost the same people everytime, I like to play the tunes to different rythms & settings so as not to bore my listeners and anyway, it is fun doing this.

Thank you very much for your response, I'll pass this valuable bit of info on to our Keyboard Club members some of whom use the KN7 as well and I know they'd be interested in what you said.

All the best.
