Hi,
I have just bought a KN 2000 .
whe I go into the disk command I can save recordings etc and load them, so the disk drive seems to work o.k but when I try to load a midifile (ending in .mid) or try to load astyles it comes up error "the product you are trying to load is for a different machine (or words close to that)
Is there any suggestions that I can try?

Thanks in anticipation

regards Joe

Hi.

First, congrats with your KN2000, it's still a great keyboard,
even today.....
This is not a unknown problem.

Joe, Congratulations on you new keyboard the KN2000 was and still is many way one great keyboard – BUT, in the areas you are speaking of expect to have problems, it is not friendly.
When I owned the keyboard I became somebody I did not like every time I got into loading info or the nightmares of Midi files. Other than that, the rest of the keyboard is very friendly. The KN2000 was the beginning of a fantastic and much desired line of keyboards right up to the KN7000. The rest of the story saddens me so I’m not going there.

Good luck and enjoy, John C.

As I expected from this forum, great help, Thanks.
I now see this is a real problem with these.
I have tried down loading midi files and free styles (for the 2000) but same message each time.
Can I buy them anywhere and then they will work?
Joe I thought if ended with .mid it should work, if not can you tell me where I could try the "General" midi
Thanks you all again for your help.
regards Joe

Hi.The 2000 was and is still a great keyboard, but a it was born at the very early stages of mid. files and style files there are some problems. One of the main problems is the disk drive in the 2000 is set up for DD discs, it will work with HD but you will have trouble
when copying file from the net ie:- styles they have been saved from a 2000 thus they are in DD format and as such will give error messages when you try to load using a HD disc.
Try using a DD disk when downloading, I know they are getting harder to get but as you have a 2000 buying a box will be well worth it.
Regards JOHN.

Hi Joe. I sold my KN2000 so I cannot point you directly to the button.
But choose general MIDI when loading.
Regards.
