First off, thanks to everyone for your thoughts on the passing of my Dad. I was the go-between him and this forum, as he had no computer. All the songs, tips, and advise on this Technics forum, I passed on to him. This forum made him a happy guy!
Which brings me to my dilemma. I was only a casual user of the KN-7000, and only played this great keyboard on visits to his house. When I did play, I only ever used the basic features with built in styles.
Now that I have inherited the 7000, and I'm trying to learn more, I am finding it a bit confusing. I have been playing a Yamaha for years, and in my opinion, is more user friendly.
Example. With a PSR-3000, If I have a style on a media card, and want to load and play, I just select a style from any media, and boom the style is ready. If it contains voices for the right hand, the OTS is lit, and can be used if desired.
With the KN-7000, I have a few styles from Bill Norrie's site that I wanted to try, and it took awhile, but I got the style to load and play.(Had to use a floppy, as the style does not appear on an SD card) Now what confuses me, is there a right hand voice included with the 4 variations? How do I find out? Do I set the music style arranger to panel? Do I need to set the panel to normal, or expand? I finally did find a rather suitable setup in one of the styles, and it included some right hand voices. But when I loaded up another style, I had to go through the whole procedure once again. MSA set up...panel memory set up. Yikes, I'm lost.
There must be an easier way of loading and playing custom styles from media. All this panel memory, panel setup, composer copy, pattern copy is all too confusing for 'newbies'.
Anyway, all I want to do is load and play some new styles with different right hand voices in the 4 variations,(MSA) (then save the best to memory). If anyone would care to go back to the basics, and simplify this procedure for me, I would be grateful.
For now, I'll stick with the built in styles. Click a button, it loads and plays.
MSA is setup, ready to go. Why can't this be done with styles on a card?
I know, I need the "How Do I Do That" book
Thank you.
