I have been asked why does my Technics KN7000 have an SD card storage facility whereas the various other manufactures keyboards specs do not seem to have adopted this form of storage apart from the floppy disk drive have noticed that some have and are incorporating a USB and internet connection on their keyboards but most new computers do not now have floppy drive installed

Hi there...
I think that the latest models in the Yamaha range use memory chip technology...I suppose the manufs either go for internal hard disk memory/storage function or seperate memory chips.
All I can say from personal experience using the SD Card with my KN7000 is that it loads extremely quickly compared to the old floppy disk and of course stores a totally different amount of data in the form of registrations and audio files etc etc.
