Hi Rog

I was listening to your radio show today and was very impressed with your 60's songs (my favourite musical era). Your backings match the songs perfectly so I assume they are not just the built rhythms.

Would you mind explaining the procedure you use to create these backings.

Many thanks

Glen

Second question Roger.
I stayed up 'til 1.00am (the time I tuned in last time)and found that you programme had just finished. Up until now I could not work out why I missed it. then WHAM!!!! we just came off daylight saving didn't we? and I did not factor that in , and I could have heard it an hour earlier then gone to bed.
Did I miss anything important? 'cause I love the OLD songs.

Glen first.
Some I've purchased; some I've swapped with others; some I've found on sites on the internet; and some I've made from midi files using EMC Style works software.
Bill Norrie is an expert in making them from scratch using 'Composer' which is complicated to say the least.
Ray
I know what you mean about the time changes cos I've not got used to it yet this week!!!
I'll put it up on E-snips later and let you know where it is.
Cheers chums
Rog
p.s. I'm answering from Midge's computer!!

Rog

Thanks for the info.

I have had a look at Bill's songs, as you say creating styles from scratch is hard work but in Bill's case the end result is worth it.

I must have a look at trying to turn midi files into styles. Do you know if EMC Style works is still available.

Glen

Hi Glen
The other thing EMC Styleworks does very simply is to convert other makes of styles e.g. Yamaha Korg Roland etc to Technics and I got many rhythms that way.
Just type in EMC Styleworks in Google and you'll get there; it's a German company but he speaks perfect english; cost about £200...
