Ah!!!! those were the days when girls looked like girls, men dressed smart, were well mannered and knew how to treat their women. We could all walk the streets well after midnight without fear. There were cinemas showing real 'entertaining' films, dance halls which catered for all tastes, 'live' theatres in large and small towns, bowling alleys, skating rinks, Youth Centres and above all - lots of real talented musicians playing 'live music which is still being played today because of it's greatness. Computer based music just cannot compete with the 'oldies' - Beatles, Rock-n-Roll and the like. Personally, despite being poor by today's standards we were happy and carefree. I think we've lived through the best of the 20th Century.

Thanks for your posting - brings back many happy memories for both my husband and myself.

I really enjoyed it too Freddy - brought many memories of my own back, and I also couldn't agree more with Audrey's comment.
We realise how much we have lost since those
lovely, relatively carefree, days and I am so saddened by the world we live in today.

I used to have a Prefect 100e series just like that one.
It was our first second car.
