Hi to all –

I am curious how others feel about touch. Do you prefer the traditional piano touch or the typical portable keyboard touch, as the Technics keyboards? Personally, I have gotten so used to the Technics touch that I don’t enjoy playing a weighted keyboard or standard piano anymore. It is comparable to typing a letter on an old fashioned typewriter compared to using the computer keyboard. I have always had a light touch anyway and with the portable keyboard that doesn’t have weighted keys, your response is much faster and precise. I have a digital Roland piano, what was state of the art at the time it was purchased that has weighted keys and I don’t enjoy sitting down to it and playing it anymore. The KN7000 has totally spoiled me. I would be interested in what others think.

Mark ... I have to agree with you ... I have played my kn6000 for several years, and recently sat down at the piano - which I haven't done in QUITE sometime - and I could not believe how 'strange' and 'hard' it felt playing ...
I LOVE my kn6000, but will HAVE to sit at the piano more often ...

PS Also, playing in 'Fingered' mode as I do has limited my left hand on the piano considerably ...

I agree with both your comments and have had much the same experience going from the two keyboards I have and then on to my Technics PR900 piano.

All I did was change the TOUCH SENSITIVITY on the piano. It has four settings e.g. Light1, Light2, Normal and Heavy.

Naturally, I changed it to 'Light1' which suits my style of playing. Unfortunately, because of its age, it doesn't have the 'Aftertouch' facility, but just taking this action did help a lot with 'wrist ache' and speed of playing.
