I have been thinking of ways to make notes about any songs I create on my KN7000. What I'm referring to is Program Change, Panel Memory changes at certain bar numbers etc. So I don't have to go through the Step Sequencer to find out where I put a Control change for example.

Just wondering if anyone uses a spreadsheet for keeping notes on each song they create and could offer any advise or do's and don'ts. Or am I going over the top when there is a much simpler method.

Many thanks

Glen

Although this would not apply for ear or memory players, I put such notes on the lead sheets that I use for playing.

Many thanks - Annotating a lead sheet is so obvious I didn't think of that - must be getting old !!

Do you create your own lead sheets from computer software, if so which program do you use.

I have been using Lime notation software for about 30 years. It is somewhat intimidating and not all that user friendly but can do anything needed for complete orchestral notation. It is a product of a small group of people from the University of Illinois. It is relatively cheap compared to most similar programs. After a lead sheet is created with Lime, I format it for my Music Pad Pro. The Music Pad Pro software is used for notations on the lead sheets because it is easy to edit those notes without going back to the computer.

Making notations on the music is also what I have been doing also..... Like "PM-C-3".

In the first few months of playing I learned quickly to USE PENCIL to notate since it is true that CHANGE HAPPENS!

Many thanks for your help.

Before reading your post Elizabeth I printed put a leadsheet and made some notes in red pen so it would stand out, then realised I had made a mistake ...... so now I also use pencil, good tip !!
