Some month ago we discussed about the mysterious new MU1000/2000 Yamaha has only released in Japan!
I asked myself - is there more?
Sure!
During exploring these crypted japan sites I discouvered some interesting new tools:
e.g. a new Plug-in board called PLG100-SG
this board must have something to do with processing vocals or the formant shaping synthesis (like the FS1r).
another new instrument is the Yamaha EOS B2000 - an XG Workstation which might have some other synthesis forms on board...who knows...
Or what about a new version of the EX5, the EX5S? This Workstation has a Sondius-XG synth inside!

It's very curious that the english language version of the Japanese site does not show exactly the same like the japanese language version...

Is there someone who can translate something from these sites into english? Especially the product informations of the Yamaha EOS B2000, PLG100-SG and EX5S? That would be nice! THX!

Here are some more details I found out using the website-translator "e-lingo":

The PLG100-SG is a vocal-synthesizer which is able to generate the human voice; here are some features:
-72 preset voices
-monotimbral : /
-compatible to every Plug-in compatible device (SW1000XG, MU128, CS6x, ...)

Here some more details about the EOS B2000:
-available in several colours (white, grey,...)
-1035 voices, 32 drum sets
-XG-compatible (586 voices, 20 drumsets)
-high-quality speaker system, equalizer
-phrase sampling
-QY700-sequencer built-in, Arpeggiator
-34 parts
-6 effect blocks
->you can say a CS6x with a sequencer (?)

Another NEW DEVICE is the QY100!! The new pocket-sequencer of Yamaha whith the following features:
-smart media slot
-memory for 32,000 notes (less than 20 songs)
-sequencer can handle 64 notes simultaneously
-record modes(sequence and pattern): real time, step recording
-tracks: 16 in song mode, 8 in pattern mode
-polyphony of the XG-device: 32 notes (that's quite less, eh?)

But if Yamaha plans to present this new stuff on the next NAMM we possibly have to wait until 2003...

Btw Vic, the EX5S is the silver version of the EX5 containing the Sondius XG-Synthesizer which is built-in. That means the EX5S is now XG-compatible.

Hi folks...

EX5s is just the silver version of the known EX5. It is available on Japan and some European countries two years now. You can visit Japan Yamaha site and look its prize. It's the same as EX5

I have a EX5S, it's a silver and limited version of EX5, BUT IT DOESN'T COMPATIBLE WITH XG!!!! You can only use VL Editor for creating Custom VL sound(This is Soudius-XG compatible), and other parts(AWM, AN, FDSP, Sampling) are not compatible with XG, You can creative a XG/GM soundset, but none of XG SYSEX will not work!! If you want to know what kind of SYSEX EX5S can "konw", it is:"F0 7E 7F 09 01 F7" GM reset, This will initialize your current peform!
