Hello,

I tried P80 and I liked its keyboard action and piano sounds but I am disappointed with its controller capabilities. I heard that S08 is better as controller and I was wondering if it has the same key action and piano sounds like the P80.
Anybody tried both of them?

the action is the same on the S08 and the P80. There is one difference......the P80 is a graded hammer action and the S08 is not graded. It's touch is the same from the lowest to the hightest key where on the P80 the keys require greater strength at the lower notes to acheive high volume level and less strength on the higher keys to acheive a louder level. The Piano sounds on the S08 sound the same as the P80 but you get hundreds of additional sounds on the S08 and more controler uptions like ptich and modulation wheels and other controllers.
Yamaha has just given the S08 a new MAP price effective Feb.1 of $995.00. The map up until now was $1195.00. It's a really good value now. I have them in stock if you are interested!
