I have been trying to get my 225 connected to my computer and am having no luck. The sound card (Yamaha DS-XG) seems to be working fine. As far as I can tell, I have the softare (Finale) set up correctly, but I can't seem to get the computer to recognize any signals from the keyboard. I have followed the instructions in the Owner's manual, and Finale manuals, and narrowed it down to one of the two of them.
Does anyone know of a way to test the midi signals without out using software (to help figure out if it is the software or keyboard)?
Any other suggestions?

These are what I would first check:

You may have already done it right but just in case, check the midi wires from the 225 to the sound card. The midi OUT of the 225 should be connected to the IN of the sound card and the 225 IN to the OUT of the sound card. This is a common mistake for people new to midi.

I've never used Finale and don't know anything about it but make sure it's input option is set to your sound card.
