Anybody knows the sound module or any rackmount equivalent of these synth? I'm planning to sell my DX7s (not the original DX7)and get the module equivalent.

Any of the newer Yamie synths have a lot of the DX7 sounds incorporated in their XG extensions.

I would suggest the Korg N1R. It has the
Yamaha XG Sounds
Roland GS Sounds
Korg Trinity Sounds
Korg XGProX Sounds
Korg 01/D Sounds
Korg 05 Sounds

all in a single rack space.

This unit is under $400 now.

You could also try to find the Yamaha FB01. Itis half rack andhas the same types of FM sounds. These sell for under $100.

I already have those new stuff. What I want to do is be able to use my DX7's sound collection since I'm gonna get rid of my DX synth. Portability and price are my concern 'coz I do have a 3 keyboards that I use in my regular weekend gig. I want something totally compatible. How about the TX802 or TG77. I heard that you can convert DX patch to TG77. Should I get TX802 or TG77?

As I understand it, the TX-7 is the rack version of the DX-7. They sell for just under $100 if you can locate one.

Does anyone know the exact differences between the Yamaha DX-7 and the Yamaha DX-7s? I just got one for $320 and figured it was a pretty good deal. Familiar with the DX-7, just not the s.
