I recently purchased the PSR 540 and when i turn it on, "Yamaha PSR540" flashes across the screen then, "back-up error" flashes across. What does that mean? Also the keys are an off-white, almost yellow. Is that normal? Please help. The box was sort of damaged in shipping and i need to know if something is wrong. Thanks.

Hi Markd
I don't know exactly what that means, but it sounds bad to me. And the keys should be white. Those 2 problems would certainly make me return (exchange) it! If you just bought it, I'd send it back.

I don't think anything is wrong. I have PSR-640, and it sometimes gives me backup error, when I load som ebroken style or something, and turn it on then. I saw this message also when it was new and I first turned it on. Usually it resets itself to default setting in this case (deletes all user loaded styles and other user settings). But I agree keys should be white.
