No Joke,

After owning a PSR-2000 and always need to load a registration to get my settings back, suddenly a week ago it saves my settings.

If I change my pedal to start/stop song and power off, when I power on it's still there!

Also it remembers the voices/style/touch response ....

Incredible! makes owning a PSR-2000 a bit better again

actually it's no joke Tom.

I Have posted on this topic 2 years ago and we all agreed that you just needed to live with the fact that you need to set everything up.

However over the last few weeks I noticed that it remembers my settings now. The obvious one is that it does not default to sustain on my pedal anymore.

I am willing to tape it and send it to you if you don't believe me!

What I was trying to accieve with this posting (after 2 years) is if anyone else has noticed this!

I don't know what's up...

... but I would sure like my PSR2000 to remember all it's settings on powering up.

I am quite used to loading my "default" registration, pushing Reg1, Freeze and Exit, though!

I know what you mean. It does not remember everything but almost everything.

Still use the registrations like always but it remembers my voices/settings and style settings, touch on/off . So when I powerup the kb next time all those settings remain where I used to have to go through the motions. It's only usefull to play around for a bit. If I really want to play/compose something then I still use the registration mem.

The only VERY usefull thing here is that it remembers my pedal settings!!!!!

It might be a bug but I like it!

I'm wondering if the 2000 works like the 740. The 740 has a capacitor instead of an internal battery which is used to remember the initial settings. If you don't turn it on for a few days, the settings will be lost and it will revert to the factory defaults. If this is the case it could be that the capacitors in your machines haven't been holding their charge.

I don't think it has a capacitor.

I have it plugged in the mains at all times so that can't be it.

anyways I'm happy!

But is it switched on all the time? The 740 Standby switch disconnects the power supply from the keyboard (and its capacitor) and presumably the 2000 does the same.
