RW, for what you will get out of the TX81Z, I would just put it in a drawer or closet for now. A day will come where you will want it again..

I use to use mine for the Dx piano[high tines]...It actually has a character that I never found on anything else...

Keep it, and cancel your auction...

I have to agree with Fran on this one. I still own a Yamaha TX802 and SY77 and I wouldn't sell either because the amount they'd get in auction wouldn't be worth losing the sounds they are best at. I use a Motif 6 with the band I play with but it still isn't as good for some electric piano sounds as the FM patches on my SY77.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the suggestion. I did buy a TX802 to replace the TX81Z. Do you guys think I should still hold onto the TX81Z knowing I have and will keep the TX802?

Thanks again.
Bob

Wow Fran that is surprising. The main reason I'm switching from TX81Z to TX802 is polyphony.
But wow , I am surprised that you keep the 81Z over the 802.... wow.

But Fran, you say... "sold first" which hints that you sold them both. Did ya?

Bob that is right..At the time..The TX802 is the better unit[naturally], but the TX81Z was handier..and it had a larger on board patch list[useable]...I used it with a bass[one voice] and a piano[7 voices], set up as a split on a single channel..
I purchased them both new, and after I sold them both, I actually bought used 81z's three more times..The market then was $75-$100 for the Z's...I sold my 802 for around $400...

And the z had the famous pseudo reverb..
