This is my first post here – I am thinking about buying a Pa800 but I need some information. The sales people at Sam Ash could not give me any answers.
I am use to using memory registrations. They are in my KN7000 Technics and in Yamaha keyboards (Arranger)


Does Korg save set-ups in a different manner?
How does Korg save a selected instrument, tempo, volume and a style for future use?
What does performance do?

I don't know if you've gotten your questions answered by now, I just noticed your post. Yes, you can save registrations in the songbook. What's nice about the songbook is that you can mix media into custom playlists that is, if you use SMF's. You can set up and save styles and programs, tempos, volumes, vocal settings for a specific song and save it to the songbook then to a custom list and on the same list have a midi file (which you can edit of course) for the next song within the same playlist. I would suggest you look at the manual and some of the demo videos on Korgpa.com. Also, check out the Korg PA800 forum.

I think you can transfer your registration settings to he Pa800 "Song Book" . I can`t say for sure , but I thought I was reading somewhere that you could.
They may not sound the same and you may have to tweak them , but it should work to a certain degree.

FWiW , I`m thinking about a Pa800 myself.

I downloaded the korg PA800 manual, to find out some of the stuff that interested me, mainly the multipads & style creation. I'm still trying to find a keyboard I liked as much as I liked my KN7.

If I'm not mistaken Roger Mepstead
(Technics forum) may have ended up with a korg of some sort??

The PA800 "songbook" is one of the most useful features on the KB aside from all the others retaining "ALL" Information for instant call up.....plus it will also save SMF/MP3/KAR/TXT all together in one list simply wonderful in live performance!

I would say buy it, unless you want the bigger keybed version pa2x or a tyros 2 which are a lot more money.

One of the problems I had with the PA800 is that apparently the ONLY place to save lyrics is the Songbook, and each song must be saved individually. Since I have a thousand or so sets of lyrics that would just take too long.
My question: Is there another way to save lyrics, say in a folder?
