I know a Roland MS-1 will work with an
MC-303 but does any one know if it is possible to control an Akai S20 from the 303, or vice-versa?

(As you can tell I've no experience whatsoever of using MIDI but hell I've got to start somewhere)

Hmmm....

Not sure about the S20s... but I can tell you I use my MC-303 to drive my ST-224 (such that it is) as well as all my other "gear". I'm sure the S20s work the same way... it's simply a matter of figuring out the MIDI mapping... what "chicklet" triggers what on the S20... if you know what I mean...
