Would anybody who knows how to setup the Roland D-110 as a General Midi Module and what software can be used for the same...

D-110 isn't really GM compatable.
GM spec is 16 channel mukti timbral, the D-110 can handle 9 (inc drums)

Look for a cheap and chearful GM unit, and use the D-110 for something else

The cheapest way to get GM into your setup is the Studiologic EM100 - it's only $49 bucks. The D110 will never be able to do more than the 9 parts, as was stated. A better "step-up" sound module is the Alessis Nano-synth for $199. Good value in that price range.
