Is jx-305 expandable like xp-30? can I download patches on to a jx-305? If yes, then what kind of file it should be .WAV, .MID, .SYX, etc. Do I need any software to do this?

Unfortunatly not, I purchased mine last September and studied up on everything else but that before the purchase. You can check out the review from Future Music by visiting their web site: WWW.futuremusic.co.uk/
go to the "on test" section and you'll find a pretty in depth review.
Look at the bright side, I guess it pushes us to be more creative in our musical endavours.
