Thought you might like to meet Cilla, my new car. (well not new but new to me!)

Had her a couple of months now and adore her! She is an MX5 but I think you call them Miata's in the USA.

She is called Cilla becasue she is black and I bought her from Liverpool. Not sure if anyone outside the UK will get that but Cilla Black is a famous Lady (from Liverpool) over here. She used to hang with the Beatles and had quite a few hits of her own. She does TV presenting work now. (well I thought the pun funny!)

The pics are not the best but I got a new digital cam for Christmas so I may take some decent ones now.

Well here she is......

You can't fit ANYTHING in the boot let alone a Tyros so she is not at all practical but I still LOve her
best wishes
Tony

Tony

I forgot to add that our American cousins won't know what you mean by "boot". For some odd reason they call it a "trunk".
Possibly because their cars are built like elephants..(Just my very little joke folks)

2) Nice wife (rare breed) (if not, see pt.4)
3) Small family, (if not, see pt 1)
4) Extreme macho/ego

I know Tony, and he definitely doesn't have a wife! He just has his priorities right!
Great car Tony! Reminds me of my youth when I used to buy such cars--Corvettes, Z's, RX7's. The RX7 had a rotary engine and was a wonderful vehicle--for two people only.

Wow! Way to Go Tony with your new sporty MX5 ! Vr-room!

I suppose (with the top down) you could even take your Tyros (positioned on end (behind the seats) with it sticking up out of the car like a surfboard. Don't forget your shades.

btw: what happened to the other car which (as I recall) you had just purchased last year?

Great car! One could even imagine that is possible to carry a Tyros inside, but how about the rest of the gear needed in our gigs? -- José.

Hiya Tony
Did the car salesman say:
'It's for you, dear - Step inside love...'
and did you reply:
'Something tells me - Your my world...'
'Anyone who had a heart' would know what I was talking about...

Hi all
Glad you all think Cilla is lovely

To answer the quote above...

1. Too much Money (I Wish!! Actually she was not that expensive)

2.Nice Wife (Like Don say's definately no wife)

3. Small family (True enough, just me my partner and the dog.)

4. Extreme Macho/Ego (I have a tiny ego so I only need a tiny car BUT I'm very Macho )

5. 1st Prize at the local lottery. (The UK is a tiny place compared to the USA so we only have a national lottery. If I had won that I would not be driving an MX5, My dream car is a Lotus or maybe an Aston Martin)

Scott,
I loved my last car and it was very fast (Rover 820i Turbo Vitesse) but it looked like a grandad car so we had to part company. STILL it is the first time I have ever sold a car for a profit!!

DON,
The RX7 is the big brother of the MX5 / Miata (at least it is if it the car I am thinking of. Very nice. If I ever come to America I want to drive a Corvette.

RMepstead,
ROFL how long did that lot take to come up with Very funny! I am still chortling after reading it!!

Jupitar5,
Indeed so I used to think that story was an urban myth until I found out it is 100% true. Cilla was indeed Cilla White until she married!

Gary,
Come on now, after a couple of glasses of kickapoo you could grow to love her! You would not be allowed to drive her of course until you were sober again but you would love her

Dave,
My job is too real!!! It was my first day back yesterday after three weeks holiday!
The more time off you have the more you want

trevorjohn,
A TRAILER??? SACRILAGE AGGGGGHHH!

best wishes to all
Tony (and cilla )

Tony,

Every Beatles fan worth their salt would know who Cilla Black is. Lots of us Yanks also know what a boot is. The real question is do you Brits know what a booty is?

Guess I'm not worth my salt. Owning most of the Beatles stuff, and playing their hits for 40 years .... and I have NO idea who that Cilla chick is!
Is it Elvis' "Cilla? (He called her that, right?) I'm lost!

Tom. Booty is a mis-spelling of 'Beauty' isn't it?
Uncle Dave. Cilla Black was/is a successful U.K. female 'covers' singer from the sixties...
Her biggest hits in the U.K. were mentioned in previous message higher up this thread and she comes from Liverpool - home of the Beatles.

Hi Roger!
Booty is African American slang for the backside of a woman. U.D. that's why you perform so much better than I do. You spent your years performing Beatle songs and I spent my time reading about them.
