Well I'm 50 now born in 1954 the same year as the Fender Stratocastor and I still play one even now ( 39 when I started Synth Zone ... 51 coming up soon ) but what the hell age doesn't matter at all. Especially on an online forum like this where we are all the same. It's all in the way you think. We have members here that range from 15 - 80+ and that's what I love about this community. We get input from all age groups and no-one cares how old the other members are but just what sort of people they are. And I think the mix of ages just adds a better variety of opinions and ideas than if we were all from the one generation. It's a good thing having younger enthusiasm and experimentation combined with maturity and experience. We can only benefit from it.

Besides musicians have a different attitude towards age than the general public. When I was 13 and learning to play guitar I had the same respect and admiration for my peers at the time like The Beatles, Stones and Hendrix as I did for Django Reinhardt from the 30s and Charlie Christian with Benny Goodman in the 40s. And even today I love hearing new artists and I don't care whether they are older or younger than me, just what sort of music they create.

It's all about the music !!!

Hey Nigel and Uncle Dave - I just turned 50, too! Born in 1955. It was a magical year all right. It's also the year Disneyland opened.

That would make you born in 1989 or 90??
You've never known a world without CDs, computers, seat belts, space travel and so much more. And you've never had to worry about Russians, polio, or Viet Cong.

I WISH I WAS 18 AGAIN - (Throckmorton) - Jerry Lee Lewis – 1979 - George Burns - 1980

At a bar down in Dallas an old man chimed in, and I thought he was out of his head.
Just being a young man I just laughed it off when I heard what that old man had said.

He said I'll never again turn the young ladies’ heads, or go running off into the wind.
I'm three quarters home from the start to the end, and I wish I was 18 again.

I wish I was 18 again, and going where I've never been.
But old folks and old oaks standing tall just pretend. I wish I was 18 again.

Now time turns the pages and life goes so fast.
The years turn the black hair to grey.
I talked to some young folks, but they don't understand
the words this old man's got to say.

[Chorus] [Tag] Lord, I wish I was 18 again!

Enjoy your ride--it's barely begun!

And I might add, cherish every moment, the good and the bad, the ride for some can be rather short.

Cheers,

Hey Nigel, nice smiley! :-)))
Am I allowed to use this gimmick on my own homepage???

I was born in november 1967 in Frankfurt where I'm living until today. I started playing accordion as a 4 years old youngling. This lead to my instantly wish to learn piano. Unfortunality there was no way for me to do so and so the years passed by.
As I was 15 a friend put a accoustic guitar in my hands and showed me 3 finger positions. The rest came from myself - I played only accoustic guitar since 5 years before I started playing on a strat. About 10 years later I bought my first own synth (a K2000R) and then a keyboard was needed. A Yamaha V-50 followed. And with my HD recording system I came into a level that I wanted to reach from the first time on. ;-)

Am I good and worthy enough to get legacy of arranger tradition? I don't know...let me hear you boys'n'girls!!! ;-)

And hey I also love the blues tones of a Les Paul! ;-)

Hehe, and some of us might seem to have reached
that age (in experience) alone
