I think it was Mel Tillis, but not sure. The chorus was:

You were just looking,
Over my shoulder
And I believed that you could do no wrong
You were just looking
Over my shoulder
For another fool like me to come along

On the same album was also a version of Sugarfoot Ragg. The whole album had kind of a western swingy feel.

Someone made a tape of it for me when I was a little kid but that tape is lost.
Then recently I heard the songs again at a horse sale in Montana. What was the album?
