The high temperature today is only going to be around 60. I can't decide whether to play golf or just hang out. Oh, these decisions.

Here in the People's Republic of Maryland today's temperature is expected to top out at 28, with a bit of snow, freezing rain, and of course the usual power outages and flooding associated with this DAMNED CLIMATE! Damned I hate winter.

Got so cold here last night that a huge flock of Canadian geese got their feet frozen in the lake by our house, this morning they took off and took the lake with them.

Tony if you see a lake flying over, shoot! there's enought geese up there to feed the whole island for 4 years.....pose

I would think that if they got down Tony R's way the high temps would cause them to lose that lake in a hurry ... perhaps they could fly over San Jose and give BeBop the rain he's looking for ... ...

Tony,

Only the folks from New Jersey north think I live in the deep south. Everyone residing south of Washington, DC calls us damned yankees.

Hi guys,

I'm another one of those Marylanders who's damn tired of winter already and it isn't even winter yet! I am thankful that I played a luncheon in Columbia today and got back home (northern Baltimore County) before the roads and the traffic got real bad. And I got to call off choir rehearsal tonight. That's a rare treat. I'm kicking back right now with a cold one.

Where's summer and Margaritaville?

Salud,

Joe

Woo-hoo! What a bunch of wusses! I see numbers like 28 and 29 here and you come on like it's the dead of winter or something. Sounds like y'all need to get up here on the cold-ass prairie of Alberta to whip you into shape - and we haven't had a winter here yet.

28, 29? . . . jeez, where's my suntan lotion?

Oh, and those Canucklehead geese, they're down there for just a bit of ice round their ankles instead of over their beaks for a change.

High temperature today 26, winds W at 15mph. What should I do, go ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, or change the starter on my truck in the driveway?

Renig,

When I was young like you I lived in Spokane, Washington, winter's were nasty, and the first year I lived there we had 100 inches of snow in the center of town. It was a beautiful part of the world from May through October, but when winter arrived and temperatures frequently went well below zero, I knew I was a southern boy at heart. I only lasted three years in the frozen north and was smart enough to head south. Now that I'm old, any temperature less than 75 is the dead of winter.

Stopped to talk to a old local Indian setting on a bench in front of walmart the other day, the converstaion turned to the weather, and he flatly stated it was gonna be a cold long winter. Curious I asked how do you Native American"s "just know" if its going to be a mild or severe winter?

His reply. "look'm at size of whiteman's woodpile"

He's probably right, I split about 12 cords of wood this summer, wood stacked everywhere, the wife was stacking and she wanted it handy, I think the bottom drawers on the dresser even has wood in it...

My wife and I went for a walk last night in the slowly falling snow. The Christmas scenes with the lights glowing in the snow was priceless. Today after work we are going ice skating and then making some hot chocolate. Just like when we were dating.

My son is going snowboarding, and my daughter is going skiing today.

I love the change of seasons.

When you have lemons, you make lemonade.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.

Merry Christmas,

Jerry

Moonlight in Vermont...beautiful winters in Maine and New Hampshire with nothing heaver than a jogging suit....but MAN when you are pushing 66.....it's too damned COLD.....

Hey Pose....as long as you are indoors and don't have to go out, sit by the fire and burn the wood...Don't go out...remember the song.."BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE" got a lot of
"Coconut and Palm tree wood for you down here"....

Well, hey thanks for that. I'll take the compliment.

Actually, truth be known, I'm 'wussing out' for Christmas myself this year - We're going to England where you're usually, like the song says, "dreaming" of a white Christmas, but in reality it's probably a Wet Christmas.

Wherever you are, I wish you all a very merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.

Colder than a wh*re's heart up here in Canucklehead Land.
It's like standing next to my ex-wife.

Did a gig out at Peason College of the Pacific(Christmas Party), last night. It's right down by the ocean, ice covering everything, and I damn near froze my tail feathers off moving gear in & out.
Had to re-tune my guitar all night 'cos of the temperature fluctuation.
Thank Goodness keys don't go out of tune.

We had snowflakes today. But it's 41 degrees, so no fun stuff like building snowmen. It'll be warm again by the weekend!

It's supposed to be over 40 this week-end in "Horse Country". We just got the rebuilt engine back for the Cushman we're rebuilding, so my son and I are going to "two wheel" it for the last time.
We're going to fire up both Cushmans, the Kymco scooters, the Suzuki 650, even the Viza Vipers and run them for the last time until Spring. Right after Christmas, we're going to order components to build a chopper kit to be ready for the two wheel season
beginning in March.

We LOVE our toys!

Ho, Ho, Ho...all the best to everyone!

Where I lived as a kid 28 degrees was a warm winter day for us. I lived near Erie Pennsylvania. My family now lives right on the lake. You want to see a cold winter go up there. We didn't have "snow" days like all the schools are so quick to use now. If there was 3 feet of snow on the ground they just put chains on the school bus tires

I now live in Hurricane West Virginia, man does it get warm sometimes down here in the winter. I've been living here since 1997 and I can't even tell you the number of days in January that it got damn near 80 degrees What these people down here call a blizzard we called a flurry where I lived.
Plus no one in this damn state can drive in the winter time. They see snow falling and rather than slow down like your're supposed to, they freak out and speed up to get home quicker. That's the problem with winter in my state. The speed limit here is 70 mph. Of course everyone does 80 regardless of road conditions.
