Spent the weekend in NY to celebrate 2 of our grandkids' birthdays ... after Mass on Sunday, I went to grandson #1's 'flag football' game ... He is 7 yrs old and it's his first year ... His father (our son ) is doing a really good job teaching the kids, getting them ALL involved (to the ridiculous dismay of some parents), AND their record is 3 wins, 2 ties, no losses ... great fun ...

... (deep radio voice) "Later that same day...
... As I have admitted to previously, I am a NY GIANTS football fan ... so I have a hard time EVER rooting for an NFC East opponent ... Sooo ... In the "2 & out" pool I'm a member of (you pick a different team each week until you've lost twice and are eliminated), I bypass the heavily favored Redskins and choose the GB Packers ... Farve gets them tied up and there's seconds left when the Vikings kick a 57 yard field goal to win the game ... a career best for the kicker ...
... The SD Chargers are beating the Hated Eagirls 17 - 13 and the Chargers are attempting a field goal to put them up by 7 ... the field goal gets blocked and the eagirls run it in for a touchdown to win the game ... PS: when is some opponent going to smack TO upside the head for his a-hole antics ?!?!???

BUT ... (deep radio voice..) "MUCH Later that same day ..." .. Eli shows that he is THE MANning by leading the GIANTS to 2 fourth quarter TDs (the second with 5 seconds left on the clock) to beat Denver !!! ....

I don't care if your Giants beat Denver--because Denver beat the spread!
Also, MY Cowboys lost at the last second, but also beat the spread by 1/2 point. Bittersweet.
My other small wager was on the Colts who covered easily. I VERY good weekend 3 for 3.
Sound like you had a great time in NY.

T.O. is a bad guy?

For what, and compared to who???

The Vikings? http://www.badjocks.com/archive/2005/vikings-sex-boat-orgy-scandal.htm
They surely deserve a smack in the head.

T.O. never used drugs like the great New Jersey GiAint Lawrence Taylor.
Now he certainly deserved a smack in the head

T.O. ? He's just a loose cannon. The players in the league know this, and they know he's not a bad guy....just a little goofy. This is why they don't smack him in the head, although the Cowgirls went after him, after stomping on that Star.

I'll take T.O. on my team ANYTIME. He is an awesome player who gives all he has. Remember the Super Bowl?

If he was on your team, you'd love him.

He'd be the GREATEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD... OF ALL TIME, IF HE PLAYED IN NEW YORK..oops I mean New Jersey...forgot you guys don't actually play in a stadium located in your city....or State for that matter. (and share with the J-E-T-S ..HA HA)

T.O. is the man, and the Eagles are the team!

Sheriff,

It may be hard to understand that we are all friends here at the bar. But when it comes to the Eagles, The Giants, The Cowboys, and other NFL teams, we are bitter rivals.

It's a weird thing actually. One becomes attached to their team, and you have to have to talk little "smack" to be a true fan.

I'm sure other parts of the World have the same type of thing with their sports teams, although, I could never understand anyone getting excited about Soccer, or Canadian Football, or Australian Football, or Rugby. or Cricket......or...anything other than American Football.

Uh Oh...I might have opened up a new can of worms
I need a beer.......

Well, guys, it's really true - we're having our own sports and sport teams. So, I'm a fan of the Frankfurt Galaxy football team but I know they couldn't stand the NFL in the US...

I'm also a fan of the Eintracht Frankfurt soccer team but they have to look out to not fall down into the German's 2nd League...

But more than this I like icehockey!!! It's a fast and tricky game on ice...I love it!!!

Okay, guys, go and enjoy your Giant, Lions and Eagirls League!!! I guess it's the most important happening in the year...

Greetings, Danny

...not true ... I have often not rooted for players on "my teams" who were a-holes ... and yes LT was no angel and deserved and got a 'smack in the head' ... In fact he deserves one now for the 'video game' he is touting on TV ... but he never tried to show up his opponents ...
