An article in the Wall Street Journal contained an extremely favorable review of a new jazz standards solo album by Andre Previn, released last week.

Here's a leading legit guy who also made a big mark in the jazz world. Goes to show that talent is the major element to success and that superb players can cross venues.

According to the article, Previn recorded the entire album in one afternoon and only took one take on all the selections.

Not too bad for a 78 year old "legit" player!

Interesting especially since for some strange reason I thought Andre Previn was no longer living.

As a teenager I remember learning to play his jazz piece called " Like Young". Love that tune and still play it from time to time.
