Hi guys,
Haven't checked here in a while- hope all is well with the music veterans here.
Anyway- I do have an off topic question.
I subscribed to Verizon DSL a while ago- all was good (connection about 512K which is a lightning speed compare to my old dial up).
Few months of smooth sailing, I started having intermitten problems (dropped off connection, slowed down speed to probably about 50K at times, which is close to my old dial up speed). Called up Verizon tech support which was unhelpful- I have had intermitten problem probably about once every couple months (first time it was about IP problem suddenly the Netgear router I have didn't recognize the modem's ip).
Anyway- after having somebody come here to check my line, they said that my neighborhood's line is NOT qualified to have DSL connection (a couple years ago Verizon themselves sent us a letter saying that we are actually equipped to have DSL).
The guy's boss told me to move on to their new fiber optic service. I told them it's like a 'marketing strategy' and in six months they will ask me to move on to whatever is better at that time.
I just feel a bit tricked. My DSL is still working at this point, just once in a while it dropped during surfing which can be annoying, but I don't feel like falling into their sales pitch.
Any thoughts/comments??
