This is kind of mind blowing. Check it out and I think you will find it moving.

It does relate to music.

thank you Mainer for putting this up. It is indeed beautiful.
I have copied the url and sent on to my mailing lists. I am sure they will appreciate it as well as they are mostly musicians and vocalists.
Best to you,
Bebop

Thank you Bebop.
I was really moved by the performance. I don't know what Tough Nuts name is on the Judging panel but his draw dropped ever so slightly when this fellow started to sing.
Just really a feel good experience. No wise cracks this time around.

I too, was moved when I originally saw this...However after he won the finals in that contest, I came to learn that he had been studying for some time with several serious vocal teachers, including the Pavarotti school. So for me, it wasn't quite as charming as I originally thought...

it was obvious that he had some serious training. I think that his lack of Dash or persona had effected his confidence. Needless to say an average Joe moving up a notch makes me feel good. I guess it's because I'm an everage Jerry.

Jerry

Oh his voice was anything but average.

Jerry, 'Tough Nuts' on the panel is the ubiquitous Simon Cowell of American Idol fame on this side of the pond.

I think the principal difference between singers like Paul Potts and Luciano Pavarotti is that bona fide opera singers have the training and capability to sing these pieces during and sometimes at the end of a demanding two-hour opera rather than just standing there and performing the one song, however admirably.

Another former factory worker from the UK with a fine set of pipes is Russell Watson (try a google search on him). Unfortunately, he recently underwent surgery for a brain tumour and his future looks uncertain at the moment.
