...that is the question!

As I was younger I'd played guitar in a heavy metal band. We'd practiced the program for our first gig three times a week. We did the gig and it was a great success for the band. At this time we'd made many jams with friendly musicians in our rehearsal room. What a great time...

Once a time a disaffection raised inside of me. More and more I perceived that I couldn't achieve my imaginations to my compositions. At this point I came to the conviction that I need my own recording studio to demonstrate my arrangements. So, I left the band and turned away from jams to be a studio musician - to be free!

Now, after 12 years spending my time with composing, programming, arranging, mixing and recording a new disaffection raises inside of me - sometimes I wanna make jams and gigs again! I hope I will end recording of my 3rd album in a little while. Maybe then I'll find new musicians to build a new band...

Am I a live or a studio musician? I guess I have a longing for the road...

Hmmmmmm! Reminds me of a Willie Nelson song "On The Road Again."

Good Luck,

Gary

'Bin there done that...and I must admit, it was fun, or maybe....interesting, would be a more appropriate term.

Of all the bands I've been a part of and all the musicians I've played with, I'd have to say, my fondest memories were when I went back to the basics.
It was in the form of a Rock-a-pella quartet. No instruments...just your's and each other's voice to carry the song.
Give a listen to "demo1" on my site.

This was done approximately 10 years ago.
  • Bob Nelson on Bass
  • David Kirk: Baritone
  • Myself: 2nd Tenor
  • Jim Arnott 1st Tenor

Now those...for me at least...were fond memories....

Hey, shboom, that's a great demo and it sounds very good - even as a mp3 file with 128 kbit.
What a pitty, there are actually no further demos on your page...

I would like to present you a demo of mine too, but I don't have enough time to administer my homepage right now. You know I'm in a progressing process of CD recording. It's my 3rd album but it should be my 1st released one. I'm working on it since a year (!) and I hope to make it real this year (maybe before Xmas?).

Sorry 'bout that. I'm currently making some changes and putting together 5 new demos to load up.
I just used that link to make a quick & dirty access for ya. That mp3 will be coming off soon, within the next few days, then in a week I might have 5 demos loaded, time permitting.
Thanx for listening.

Don't say to me "I'm sorry" - don't worry about that! It was a really nice idea from you and I'm the one who has to say "thank you", Shboom!

I will try to make the same for you on next weekend. Haha...now I see there's a really funny thing in it: Your recording is full of that what fails in my recording and contrariwise!!!
In a few days you'll know what I mean...
