Makes ya wonder....don't it?
On the reverse side of the coin....we often do gigs at the Conference Centre here in Victoria, and they treat us like royalty without asking.
Our dressing room is supplied with lots of bottled water, plates of fruit, those funny little finger sandwiches, etc.
So maybe the secret is not to make ridiculous demands.....and they'll treat you like kings!!

Ooops...must run....my fillet mignon is ready...

Jeez! How the other half lives, eh?

Don't go playing the Kingsway Legion here in Deadmonton. A while back I went up to the bar for a glass of water and was asked for $2!

When I questioned this, I was told something along the lines that if they didn't charge for the water, half the crowd in there (crowd being a relative term) would sit and drink water all night, so they ended up charging $2 for the water in hopes of steering them into buying beer (or at least a coffee).

I've been in this game awhile, but this was a first.

Back in the 80s I played in a band called The Name that used to open for INXS. We had to share a dressing room with them ( they weren't quite as famous as they are now ) and they had a pretty extravagent platter of appetisers and a full bar. They were actually very down to earth guys, basically surfers from Sydney that got together to form a dance/rock band. A great band to open for in front of over 1,000 people. We didn't make a lot of money doing opening sets like that but it sure was fun playing through a big concert PA system with a huge lighting show to a lot of people. We also opened for The Divinyls on a couple of occasions as well.

Hey all,
regarding the thread's original topic about the rich and famous and their "ridiqulous tastes and demans".

I think bottom line is when you make that much money you can have your hotel suites painted however you like, you can bathe in whatever you like and use any toilet seats yourass desires to. LOL

OF coarse the "Have nots" shall disagree but so did the communists. It's a freaky world. What else is there to say.

Off I go to work like the rest of us mortals.
