I read somewhere that you were on the South Beach Diet. I was wondering how that worked out for you, and if you could provide some information on how it works?

Here is some info. Give the movie time to load.

The diet works if you follow it.

Sorry I havn't been here in quite some time guys and gals.

The South Beach Diet is an outstanding program, which for me resulted in a 55-pound weight reduction over a 5-month period. I've kept most of the weight off for nearly three years, and as of this morning I weighed 188 pounds. I was down to 175 when I went on phase 3 of the program.

The only way South Beach will work for anyone is to buy the book, then follow the program religeously. The menus are easy to follow, taste great, and if you follow the program exactly as outlined, you'll never feel hungry. During phase 1 I dropped about a pound a day. At the end of two weeks I was 15 pounds lighter, and most of the weight came off my waistline. Some folks would like to tell you that this is all fluid loss, but that's a crock. Statments such as these are usually made by individuals that have not tried the program, not read the book and have failed in their deitary programs.

Phase 2 of the program reintroduces limited amounts of carbohydrates, and while weight loss continues, the loss is less dramatic, averaging a couple pounds a week.

Phase 3 is essentially a maintenance program, which provides you with a new way of living. I cut white potatoes, white bread, white rice, white pasta and a few other things out of my diet. They've been replaced with sweet potatoes, whole wheat bread, wild rice and whole wheat pasta. We eat lots of chicken, steak, pork roasts, seafood, snack on whole wheat crackers with various cheeses, enjoy sugar-free deserts, and the weight stays off. I'm sure the weight I regained is from drinking a margaretta every night after work. I havn't found a viable substitute for these yet.

Hope this helps, and again, I appologize for not visiting this area more often.

Cheers,

Gary

Atkins is much higher in fat and cholestorol, where the South Beach diet is low fat, low choleserol. I tried Atkins before south beach and had some problems with indigestion and irregular heart beat. No such problems with South Beach--it was designed by a cardiologist.

Gary,

You've gone too far South. This is South Beach diet not South of the Border diet.

Jerry,

Yeah, but after a day of battling Baltimore's segment of I-95 and I-695 that margaretta sure tastes might good.

Cheers,

Gary
