First let me say this thread is NOT to be a political discussion, comparison, etc. Rather, its purpose is for us Americans who will be voting tomorrow (or perhaps already have. I'm interested in hearing about how long of a wait you might experience, what problems you may have run into and so on...
Again, this is not about who anyone votes for, but just the voting experience tomorrow...
Past years voted with absentee ballots because I was usually in Vegas this time of year for a trade show, amongst other things like a fling at the poker tables.
Early voter about a week ago. Took my wife and I about 1 hour. This is in northern suburbs of Atlanta, where waits of up to TEN hours were experienced in Gwinnett County. There were charges of there being fewer machines per voter in the poorer precincts. There were similar charges in VA.

My precinct in SE Florida: No lines. More voting booths (desks, really) than people. In and out in 5 minutes.
A poll worker said, "Unlike the early voting, there have been no long lines or waits today".
Are we all using the same voting equipment? Here, you fill in the blanks on a form at a semi-private type desk. Then march your ballot over to a machine that looks like a copy machine. You feed the ballot into the machine and its over.
We have used so many different voting procedures here in recent years I just wonder what procedure other areas of the country use. Eddie

Hey Russ-
I live a little over an hour North of Miami Univ. Beautiful area gorgeous campus without a doubt.
I've done a few corporate functions on campus, which were lots of fun...
I just wanted to say how proud I am to be an American today and how fortunate I was for the honor and privilege to vote for my next president and senators.

Can anyone explain why every state does not have the same voting system, and how voting 'equipment' is allotted? While there was no line at the time I went, there have been other years, and we had a number of "booths/tables" to make our selections, but only one machine to put the card in ... and chas, our town is not a 'poor' community ...
