there are 9 videos of him playing steel with a rhythm and bass gutars backing him up.
I am listening to him as I type this and I am truly in awe.
Here is the url: http://billyrobinson.net/billys_videos.htm
I didn't put this in the GA forum because it is not GA related. Hope everyone will catch it here as this fellow is a real master.
I always wanted to play steel but never got to it.
I just discovered that he developed a second career as an artist.
this URL has his bio and it is quite interesting. http://www.billyrobinson.net/
Enjoy the music,

Bill, in the early 80's, I added a two neck Fender to a Hammond C-3. They were 8 strings, and I put them in the position where a top third keyboard would be. Built a whole new case and had the whole thing painted an enamel white. Did two Leslies, too, which basically cut the value of everything in 1/2.

Still use a Chandler lap steel occasionally, and am looking for a single neck Fender with legs.

Fun, but limited little instruments.

here is more info on his guitar:
His tuning is as follows from top: D-G-E-C-A-G-E-C-A-F on a Derby Lap steel guitar.
This is a one of a kind lap steel made by Charley Stepp owner of Derby Steel Guitars.
It is a 10 string guitar built on a 12 string body.
The wider spacing helps with bar slants.

He founded his own business, “Robinson Graphics,” and designed a lap steel guitar which has been custom built for him by Charlie Stepp of Derby Steel Guitars in Kentucky.

I play with a guy here in Nashville on a pretty regular basis who does the same thing. String pulls, bar slants, and a few different tunings. His name is Chris Scruggs. He's working on a steel album now, but he used to be lead singer and guitarist with the rockabilly group BR549. He's Earl Scruggs grandson. Not sure if he has any good youtube vids or not, but what a dynamite player on the nonpedal steel.
