Recording Wire

Found this in an antique mall, recently. I have never seen recording wire before, outside of a book. This predates magnetic tape.

Pretty cool! Antiques, particularly antiques and historic items from a field you're interested in are great.

We had a wire recorder when I lived with my RICH uncle in 1940's. It really worked fine as long as you didn't let the spool get away from you cause you could never untangle and save it.
This machine was several hundred dollars even back then. I never knew anyone else to have one.

I've always been fascinated with recording.
