Hi everybody, I am a new member. I at one time owned an Ao1 Auto Orchestra that I used to accompany myself on the electric guitar. Due to a physical problem I could no longer fret the std. guitar so thought my music days over so sold my AO. Then I got interested in steel guitar where of coarse I didn't need the fretting strength. Now I am interested in finding another AO or something that would do the same thing. As the AO was a synthenizer I thought maybe some of you might be able to help me. Something I can change chords with my foot. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Don

I wonder if an arranger keyboard with a MIDI foot controller might be the way to go now. Although that may be a little different from the AO it would probably be a lot more flexible in allowing you the freedom to change chords to whatever you want on the fly while you play guitar.

I don't really think you will be able to find AO now and a newer arranger keyboard would probably be far superior in sound quality.

Hey, Don, I used an old Auto Orchestra for years. You held the bass note with your left foot and triggered the minors, Dim, 7ths, etc. with the heel of your right foot.

You can do the same thing with a variety of Ketron keyboard arrangers or modules. In fact, the Ketron is the current version of the old Auto Orchestra. Last I checked, they had the same 13 note bass unit I have upstairs with the old Auto Orchestra.

Get hold of Frank (Frankieve) here...he's a Ketron dealer and a really good guy to deal with.

Welcome, by the way!

Russ

I just knew that this forum was gonna help an old guy like me. Thank you Nigel and Capt Russ. I figured there must be something out there that could do what I wanted but not knowing anything about the new equipment I was kind of stuck. I will do as you suggested and hopefully find my machine. Thanks again. I did like that old auto orchestra, I learned to not get in a hurry to sell anyhow. Don

Ketron would definately be the way to go.

I know of a second hand ketron X4 module that would suit you perfectly--thats if the guy has not already sold it

let me know and i could check it out for you

Rusty and all you guys, I sure appreciate the help. I think I am all set now, I bought a Farfisa 7X11. It is a little more machine than I needed but does exactly what I wanted to do. Now I just have to get used to foot pedals again. But I did it before so am sure I will do it again. Once more, thanks to everybody. Don
