My Tyros just came in about 1/2 hour ago..it
is an awsome machine from what I can see...
however, the power adapter never got here and I want to know if it's possible to use the 3000 adapter to power on the Tyros without causing any problems later...I don't know the difference between the two...I do know that the 2100 and the 3000 use the same model does anyone know for sure if the Tyros will be ok using the 3000.....Thank you....

Tony,

The power supply is INSIDE the Tyros !!!
So.... no external one needed. Please try to locate the powercord, plug it in and enjoy !

ditto to what Roel said here. Luckily, with miracle of free internet telephone (Skype) I was able to call Tony directly and explain the situation as Roel described. Tony luckily was able to locate the Tyros power cord (right one afterall) and plug it directly into the Tyros. He mistakenly thought that he was missing the AC power adapter box that comes with the other PSR keyboards: PSR3000, PSR2000, etc.

Tony, happy music making. Please post your 'side by side' comparison of the PSR3000 & Tyros, in both their sound(s), styles, and features.

Scott

If the current where you live is the same as the US then, ya, go for it! Just use the supplied cord.

You'll love the Tyros. The great thing is that you can buy an EXTRA power cable from radio shack. I went to do a job in a remote little town and forgot the power cord. I was able to go to the little Radio Shack there and get one.
By the way, I got the bag. I'm going to see if it fits in a little while. It looks good.

Well, you won't believe it but...sometimes...between the rain trops there's a little noise and if I switch off all my computers then this noise become a little bit louder...and if I stop breathing for a moment then, Tony, then I can really hear you...

I can't understand why Yamaha did not use a conventional power cord connector...

Don,
As long as I do gigs (probably >32 years now) I always took/take a complete set of spare-cables with me, 'hidden' somewhere in the car. One of each type :
Microphone-, power-, specials (e.g.Leslie) and speaker-cables.

Fran: As far as I remember Technics used to use the same type.... didn't they Scott ?
I too prefer the more solid (Euro?)connector but I can live with this one.
