Hi

After several hundred hours of programming "midi2style - the program for converting MIDI files to YAMAHA PSR style files" has been updated.
A lot of new features have been added since the first release.
Besides this converting speed has been increased significantly.

midi2style is still free software.
Get your copy at http://home7.inet.tele.dk/js/midi2style

Here you will find a new "Getting started" page; sample conversions and the help file online.

New features include:

Added in version 2.00.
XG voice and PSR Panel voice support.
Voice selections for Tyros, PSR9000/9000Pro, PSR 2000, PSR1000, PSR740 and PSR640 are validated.
Intro and Ending Parts can play "melodic" (non harmonized) as the MIDI file.
Conversion settings can be saved for future use for new conversions.
Most used controller events can be included into the style file.
The five last opened MIDI files are added to the File menu for fast access.
Program remembers Open and Save folders for fast access to user folders.
Program start/stop; file operations and conversions are logged to file.
The MIDI File player has got a "Pause/Continue" button.

Added in version 1.01.
Maximum style part lengths are increased to 64 measures (fills one measure).
User Interface in English, German and Danish.

Heiko Plate has created the German User Interface. Thank you.

Happy styling!

Jørgen

Hi

It is a stand alone application written in Java.
You will need the Java Runtime Environment, which can be downloaded free from Sun.
Details at the Download page at http://home7.inet.tele.dk/js/software

Hi

Hard question to answer!

Have you followed the procedure at the Download page at http://home7.inet.tele.dk/js/software/index.htm carefully ?

Do you have the Java Runtime installed ?

What is your windows configuration (win 98 / win 2000 / win me / win xp) ?

What is your computer hardware (processor type, CPU speed, RAM amount etc.) ?

Hi mirza

There is a "Getting Started" page at http://home7.inet.tele.dk/js/midi2style/m2s_howto.htm

At this page you will find a step by step description of how to convert a MIDI file into a PSR style file.
