Gary,

You have been complaining about not being able to read the LCD display in your PSR3000 for a while now. I have found the solution right here:

Gary. It would keep you warm gigging outside in the winter.

Actually that Sonnenschutz isn't such a bad idea. It'd have to be a little different for a PSR3000 though. More along the lines of a periscope with a curved top. My ancestors the Germans shouldn't have to much trouble in developing that idea

I have wondered if that screen material Gary has mentioned could just be layed over the kb screen. I suppose it's more involved than that.

Funny thing is, here we have to resort to a Sonnenschutz or cardboard box so we can see the screen in the bright sun and yet we are unable to wear sunglasses as it makes the screen harder to see. So I guess it's just squint and look into your Sonnenschutz

Scott

I've looked into several sunlight viewable LCD displays, most of which ranged from $300 to $700, and all would fit directly inside the PSR-3000's current screen. Just a bit too much to pay for something of this nature. I found a few that sold for about $125, but they didn't have the correct power compatibility for U.S. current specifications. My current solution to the problem was to give up daytime outdoor jobs, and convince the customers that nighttime jobs were more fun. It worked! I now have about a dozen nighttime, outdoor jobs, all of which pay top rates.

Man I love this business,

Gary
