It took me awhile to figure out what this post was about. I guess you have software for people with large collections of Yamaha styles on their computer. The software identifies when two style files are really the same style, even though the styles may have different names. Is that it?

Sorry I forgot the heading in my message. It is a Yamaha style file application.

The software is designed to find:
1. True duplicates, meaning identical style files, but saved with different file names.
2. Style files which have more than coincidental similiarities. This could be revoiced, renamed, etc. style files; style file which have the same Main parts etc.

The program is used in conjunction with the PSR Style Database application from Peter Wierzba. More information at the page mentioned in my first mail in this thread.
