Why is Fran's "throwed together" G70 gone? Just because he may have had second thoughts or not liked his own work is no reason to delete everyone else's comments.

There have been times when we all wished we could delete the thread, but Nigel changed that a couple years ago. Why did Fran get special treatment. He should have thought twice before posting that song.

Not fair!

Yeah, what's with that?

I had a quick listen to Pennies From Heaven (the 'throwed together' song in question) so I went to Fran's site to listen to Born To Lose, which was suggested in a post by Scott, and none of the songs on Fran's site would open.

Wazzzup, Fran?

That's strange, renig, I was able to go to Fran's site and play "Born To Lose"(and the other songs as well) with no problem.

I guess Nigel had his reasons for removing the "throwed together" tune.

It is still on the roland-arranger.com site in the "Renditions" section, I believe.

This pissing contest goes on every time Fran, Donny and Scott are in the same place at the same time. STOP IT!

I think Scott should not respond to Donny and Fran posts
AND
Fran and Donny should not respond to Scott posts.

Okay, Ian/Fran. The problem was at my end - my daughter had deleted an 'active x' control (whatever that is). All systems going again. Cheers.

This kind of converation never ceases to amaze me. Sure, some people are better than others, but I don't see any big names on this forum. I don't see people who are selling out arenas. Most of us are reasonably successful local entertainers who have carved out a nitch for ourselves. I for one am happy to be doing what I love for a living and I'm not really interested in being better than the next guy. I strive to do the best job I can with the talents and equipment that I have. Oh well, that's just my humble opinion.

Ciao,

Joe

Gee, now we're missing about 10 posts from this thread. So now we're doing selective editing. I don't like it one bit.

We must be getting out of control.
If that's the case, Nigel, then come online and explain what you're GOING to do. Now you have to explain what you've done and the evidence is gone.

Because it turned into the same old pissing contest. You know I am going to kill that sort of discussion. Nobody wants to read this crap especially me. I don't believe for a second that the posting of links to songs recorded by people that others just can't get on with was done for any other reason than to stir up trouble. This is kindergarten mentality. Some of you just do yourselves a disservice by making yourselves look like spoilt children. If I was a potential client reading how some of you behave in public I would have serious concerns about risking hiring some people for a professional engagement in case these personality flaws emerged because an insensitive audience member happened to push their buttons.

There definately are people that just are unable to interact civilly .. so they shouldn't .... it's that easy. Maybe I should follow Bill's example at smallgig.com because people wouldn't get away with that sort of behavior there without getting permanently banned. It seems like some can't behave like civilized human beings and do require severe censorship though that is not how I feel a forum should be run but it seems like some of you want to take that choice from me.

Show some self control or I will do it on your behalf. Some of you make it impossible for people to post their recordings when it is always turned into temper tantrums. And we wonder why people are loathe to post links to their music.

If people have nothing to say about someones work other than vitriolic criticism ( either directly or through sarcastic innuendo ) then their opinion provides no benefit to anyone here and is not at all welcome.

Exactly cassp there are people here that are unable to control themselves which is the root of the problem.

I have explained it in the above posting. You just happened to get in between me deleting and posting my reasons why.

As far as explaining what I am GOING to do, I have made it clear in the past on numerous occasions. That hasn't changed. I think you all know what I'm going to do. When a thread disappears then I have removed it myself because no-one else is able to do that. If the majority of the thread is tainted by bad behavior then that thread is history. If I think I can selectively delete the offending postings but leave the thread intact then I will try that as my first option.

Yes, it was selective deletion. I deleted postings that were designed to cause trouble and of course then had to remove other postings that were related to them or the thread would no longer make sense.

My first thought was to kill the entire thread ( would have been a whole lot easier ) but I didn't think that would be fair to you and I wanted to respond to your original question.
