I'm new to Yamaha products and the way their "systems" operate. By systems I mean how they organize, use setups, play midi files and the data(patch/bank changes specifically).

Just as an experiment, if I used Cakewalk v.9 to select and save msb/lsb/patch change data using the Motif 6 .ins file data. into a midifile,

could I play back the midifile on a Yamaha PSR keyboard so that it recognizes the patch/bank change data? And also send that(midi out of PSR to midi in of Motif 6) to a Motif 6?

I.E. Do all/most Yamaha use the same msb/lsb/patch setup for playing back a midifile/sequence?

If some do which Psr would work for me?

Thanks all in advance!

NO, YOU WOULD NEED TO USE THE .INS FOR THE PSR MODEL.

NO, THIS WOULD REQUIRE THE USE OF A KEYBOARD WITH A MIDI THRU JACK.

GENERALLY, NO, DIFFERENT MODELS WILL HAVE DIFFERENT PATCHMAPS (.INS).

NO PSR MODEL WILL ALIGN WITH THE MOTIF.
