I know it seems very uncomfortable but you will normally make out much better starting with a $1 opening bid. It encourages interest in the item, and bidding breeds more bidding.

Marc I disagree..Open with a bid you are willing to except..You won't lose any legitimate bidders..and we don't waste our time..playing games..

Marc and Gilbert..I had this very discussion with a seller on Ebay..I asked what his reserve would be, so I can decide to bid on his item or move on to someone else's offer..He thought I was rude to ask..making it unfair to other bidders..I suggested the opening bid reflecting what he would consider..He responded he would get more activity..bid wise..I tried to explain ..the early bidders are not legitimate buyers...you won't see them bidding in the end..it is a pastime....that is why I said it to be a waste of time...

He didn't want to hear it , and told me he didn't want to deal with me..

So I purchased the item I wanted..5 minutes later...from someone that wanted to deal with me..

Thanks for all the input but it is too late now. If it doesn't sell I'll keep it and sell my Sd-1.

Jim,

Yes, the high speed Lake Express makes us only a couple of hours apart. I hear you have quite a cool music festival in Milwaukee during the summer. Someday I need to attend it. Also whatever the weather is there, we will usually get it in about 2 to 3 hours.
