Got a real suprise today when I went to the local Sam Ash and saw both a Tyros2 and a PA1x Pro on display. Man o' man, my first chance to see and try the PA1x in person. After two weeks of experimenting with the Tyros2, I felt that I had a good basis for comparison. I sat down with a pair of headphones and no sales "assistance", and in about two minutes I was having serious doubts about my decision to buy the T2 (in the blind). Knowing that this is totally subjective, I can truthfully say that had I had the opportunity to try both, it would have been a no-brainer for me. The combination of the sounds (voice quality), styles, 76 wonderful feeling keys, and touch-screen made it an overwhelming favorite in my book. To punctuate that feeling, I immediately came home and ordered one. I will still keep the Tyros2 as I have loaded it up with a 80g HD, 1G memory, 1g memory stick, 40 gig external usb drive, wireless lan adapter, three assorted pedals, and custom fitted case. Actually, I'm as excited now that I've heard it as I was while waiting for my T2. Maybe more, 'cause now I know what I'm getting. Anyway, CCdmax, good choice. Anyway, here's hoping I have enough left for the divorce lawyer. Naaaa, at this stage, we're financially bound for life. Oh, and please, no Tyros2 rebuttals. They're both nice keyboards, the Korg's just uhhh, nicer.

Peace,

chas

PS: I finally getting rid of my trusty (and like-new) G1000. Also my VK7. I figure that with an expression pedal, either of these boards can handle any organ parts.

GReat choice on the PA1x Pro. I've had mine since March and got it with a Korg D16XD 16 track recording studio. I have had so much fun with both. I love my Pa1x Pro..... Just wish I had a drawbar organ to go with it....haven't been as impressed with the built in drawbars but everything else is awesome. The ultimate would be to keep the PA1x and get an Oasys for a controller....WOW!!!!

Jeff

I second the need for an additional set of drawbars so I went out an added a Roland VK-8M to the already overcrowed PA1XPro, Ketron X4 (some additional sytles and accoustic voices) and Roland 5050 (primarily a good layered piano sound). The addition of the VK-8M has given me the very close to B3 sound and by spliting the PA1XPro keyboard with a Jimmy organ on the bottom, I've had numerous comments as to "where is the B3"? and "I don't see the leslie...but I do hear it." You just may want to look into the addition of a VK-8M.
