Domenik,
I have a second hand SG-X Expander from Solton ( SN # : 1202/137), witch with i have some problems.
I have adressed my question to Solton, buth didn't recieve any answer.
Since You are the developer of the SM-X Expander, i ask You :
Wenn i use MIDI IN-1, than lots of notes keep hanging, and lots of notes don't play at all. When playing a midi-file thru MIDI IN-1, than the Expander go totaly crazy. MIDI IN-2 works normal.
After a quick look inside, i noticed that the MIDI IN-1 signal is routed to the display-panel, where it is handled by microcontroller 89C51 (programmed with V1.03) On the other hand, the display-panel functions works perfectly.
By replacing jumper JP9 on the mother-board, the MIDI IN-1 is routed directly to SAM9708, pin 29. This way, MIDI IN-1 works normal, but without control of the display-panel.
To me, it looks like the MIDI IN-1 signal is not properly merged with the display-panel signal.
Is this a known problem ? Is there a solution to solve this problem ?
I hope You answer my question, in meantime, please except my best greetings.

Hi Ketron user I had reply in Lionstracs forum too. yes, I'm the official producer of the Solton SG-X, SM-X is the new board derivated from SG-X, but with 4 outsputs.
I know about this problem, is a OLD problem. You just get the old firmware release 1.3, you need to replace the LCD micro with the release 1.8, that merge all the midi inputs data correctly to the output data.
At the fist delivery os SG-X, they had approved the firmware and then, after testing again it with some other keyboards, we had find this problem. I had resolved this problem, reprogrammed all the remain SG-X and send a quantity of new micro. unfortunately, they till now, don't have sent back to me the old micro and don't want to pay any shipment or more expense. Now we have find some internal LCD broken links to some program change, but they dont want to pay the rework, so at this point I don't care.
I know that now is not your fault, let me know in private message your address and I will send you by post a new micro, then you send me back the old one. I think that is the best fast way or you will waiting months more.
About the midi problem that we know, is the SG-X working well? I mean, the sound quality and dynamic with any midifiles are good? Let me know Domenik

Domenik,
Thanks very much for the quick respons. Now that is what i call a good service !
I can't find your E-mail adress to send you my post-adress. Could you send me a mail please, then i can reply with my post adress. (i rather keep it secret instead of showing every one my post-adress here) My mail-adress is : carlo.recour@pandora.be
I will defenitly send you the micro-processor back, once i have recieved the new one.
Otherwise, i am very pleased with this expander. There are very good sounds, and with the MIDI IN-2, midifiles sound very good.
There are some very nice sounds in the Solton-Variation bank too, alltought i can not very much listening them, since the MIDI IN-1 is not working very well. (wich will defenetly change after your support !)
I hope also to see you at the Franfurter-fair, where we perhaps have the chance to meet each other. I will certenly pass by your booth.
In meanwhile, please accept my thanks in advance for your help.
