Hi,

Are there T2 users who already tried the Internet Direct Connection ?

Is the specific website worthwhile ? What can be found (cost ?) ?

Are there top renditions of songs using the internal styles ?

Thanks !

Hi there.
I've tried the IDC a month or so ago and all I could see were midi files by Yamaha and some other companies and loads of styles (thanks to Steve Marsden for helping me set the connection up as my Firewall and router had a mind of their own that night lol).
I can't remember the cost but they were not expensive. It seems that Yamaha midi files have a demo available to listen to although they don't last long, but some of the other companies were not offering a try before you buy demo. I don't use midi files myself so I was mainly interested in new styles.
The styles had demos but to be honest they dont last long and you dont get to hear all of the intro's and endings to them, so it's hard to say if they are good or not. To me some sounded like styles you can freely get off web pages and they were possibly 9000 pro and T1 styles.
I can remember Yamaha stating that there were going to be 10 new Tyros 2 styles available for free or to purchase every month from the T2's release.
The T2 came out in the UK early November so that should be 10 released in December and 10 in January, so where are these 20 new styles because I can't see any of them on any Yamaha site?
COME ON we all need new T2 styles even though the internal ones are amazing

I tried the website yesterday and was a bit disappointed too.

First off you hear only the intro and the beginning of the ending of a style which doesn't give you any inside in the playability of the style variations.

They have about 45 or so styles: basic and premium.
The premium ones sound like they were made for the T2 and were $6.95 each.
They do sound good though.
The basic ones were $5 or $6. Can't remember.
Some of those are already in the T2.

I tried to listen to a lot of songs and wasn't able to.
I would not buy a midi file I haven't heard.

Some of the free files that are supposed to be loaded recently and seem therefore to be new are actually old XG files that were free for download a long time ago already...

Hopefully it will change to the better..

Eric
