Creativity is strange; sometimes you spend days without recording a note and then you record a whole song in less than two hours. Our friend Chico is going to be operated on May 20th, but I think that he will be hospitalized at least one or two days before, so I have thought to record a song to wish him well and also to pay a tribute to his country. The song is the classic "Aquarela do Brazil" or simply "Brazil", by Ary Barroso. I have used the Brazil Bossa style from my SD1 because I felt that this style was more appropriate than all the sambas I have heard; the instruments are all from the SD1.
Chico, this is my way to say to you "Break a leg!" or, as we say in Italy, "In bocca al lupo, amico mio!"

Hi Andrea,
It was very nice that you did this piece for Chico!
I pray to God that he makes it through the operation n flying colors, & for complete healing!
"Andrea" that was a wonderful rendition of a great song! That style worked well with that song. The SD1 has some great styles & voices, & it seems you make the best of them!
Your friend,
Nobby
PS: Now I have two of your songs saved!
I'll get more from your site!

Very, very nice! As are all your beautiful songs. I didn't recognize it by name, but I did recognize the tune once I heard it. A wonderful tribute to Chico.

Thank you, my friends; I am living a strange phase of my life, where I do things I would have never thought were possibile to me. Sometimes, when I hear my own recordings, I find myself thinking "Did I really do that?"
Anyway, I hope that this phase lasts for a long time, so I'll be able to offer you more and more songs.
Chico, I'll record another song for you when you will write us saying that everything went fine with your operation.
Tom, I am looking forward to the possibility of finally meeting you in person when I come to San Francisco in June (the departure date is the 8th: it's official!)
Andrea
