I know we don't have the space here but the one thing I've always been curious about is what would be considered the 100 most important songs to know. Is there any place that mght have such a list.

Maybe the list that can be found on the following web site will be of some interest. Click on the “Top 200” button. This list, complied in late 2000, charts a broad spectrum of music that mobile DJ’s agreed were their most requested songs or selections needed to produce a successful event.

It does list 200 songs, rather that the 100 you were asking about, but it's a place to start.

If it works for DJ’s, it ought to work for keyboard players as well.
