Has anybody come across sysex patch for the pa 80? that can be installed in cakewalk the same as gs xg or gm.And if you have how do you import it to cakewalk? I have'nt figured out how to install instrument definitions yet. I'd be obliged for any help.

Hi

Don't you just import the Korg pa80 instrument definition file like you would any other? A good place for pa80 help and support is here:
http://www.irishacts.com/forum/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=20&sid=ad4e1a2f620e85597c281c79fc92ce58

Sorry the link is so long.

Yes Tom, exactly. In cakewalk / sonar you simply go to the "options" menu, select "instruments", press the "define" button, and from the screen that follows, press "import" and point to where you stored the file on your computer.

The PA80 cakewalk ins definition file can be downloaded from Korg's PA80 website at http://www.korgpa.com . Go to the site, select "download", then select "bonusware" , hit the link that says ": agree", press #4 ( computer music templates ) and d/l the file from that screen. In addition to a Cakewalk instrument file, Korg posted the instrument patch file that I made for Jammer Pro software. I am almost finished making a patch file for "Band in A Box" as well and will submit it to the site when it is ready if anyone needs it.

Can't you just copy the instrument definition file into the Cakewalk folder as you used to in pre Sonar days? Or have they changed the format?
